Baidanghai Apartment is the first project of Canhigh. It is located at the intersection of Wenyi Road and Moganshan Road in downtown Hangzhou. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, this region was remarkable as one of the "Eight Scenes within City Walls" and "Eight Scenes among Lakes and Villas". It was also proclaimed by Qing Emperor Qianlong as "White Foggy Lake". In contemporary era, it offers a strong cultural atmosphere because of it has been a higher educational zone.
In 1997, Canhigh acquired the land and became the pioneer of the old city renovation in downtown Hangzhou. Out of respect for history and tradition, Canhigh restored its geographical culture, remodeled its regional value and gathered first-class design and creative cooperation units to create "New Jiangnan Dwellings" that had Chinese traditional architectural style and met the needs of modern life. So that it not only became the paradigm of the first generation of commercial housing in Hangzhou, but also the pioneering work of Chinese-style housing in Hangzhou real estate market.
Whether it is the open lake, or the architectural landscape elements represented by "ma tau wall, dark tiles, ancient well, water wheel and kollergang", as well as the figures in "long mandarin gown, silk hat and cheongsam" seen in the advertisement, the project embodies the rich and elegant flavor of the Jiangnan dwellings. "The bygone years reappear in front of you." Baidanghai Apartment allows residents to find a link between architecture, residence and life, the long-lost native and traditional humanistic feelings, even a favored home.
The project covers an area of about 5.3 hectares, with a construction area of about 120,000 square meters in total. It consists of 19 multi-storey buildings, 6 small high-rise buildings, 2 office buildings and one 3-4 levels kindergarten, with a total of 1,060 households. The project was sold in October 1998 and fully put into service in 2002.
